Shot Blasting

Shot Blasting Services in Minneapolis

Shot blasting is a cleaning, deburring or deflasing process using metallic shot propelled at a high velocity.

The process is typically used to remove rust, scale or any other dry surface contaminant. Shot blasting can also produce uniform cosmetic surfaces.

Bulk blasting utilizes specialized machines to blast the surface of a material with one of many types of metallic shot (media). This is done to remove surface debris, such as scale, but it is also done to impart a particulate surface finish to the object being shot blasted. Often, parts getting shot blasted are moving on to another step in the manufacturing process and must be clean prior to the next operation. This is a fast and economical method to clean material.

Stainless steel and carbon steel media is most commonly used in our shot blasting process with different shot sizes available to provide a wide range of finishes. Shot blasting media comes in spherical shapes as well as grit in order to achieve the desired results.

Eaglemaster has a wide variety of shot blasting machines available to process our customers’ parts. There is a size limitation of 48” x 24” and/or a weight limitation of 300 lbs per piece.
